The Art of "Howl's Moving Castle"

"Howl's Moving Castle" is an animated film by Hayao Miyazaki, legendary creator of Japanese animated features brimming with heart and humour. Based on the novel of the same name by Dianna Wynne Jones, it's so easy to be swept away by the fantasy world and the magic and extraordinary characters that fill it.

It tells the story of Sophie, a plain girl working in her parent's hat shop, and Howl, a mysterious wizard rumoured to stay young by eating the hearts of young women. When the jealous Witch of the Waste mistakes Sophie for Howl's lover, she curses her, turning her into an old woman. Sophie embarks on a quest to find Howl and reverse the spell that has been cast on her.
